Vizard VR Software and StarVR One Headset for Researchers
Author: Andy Beall, WorldViz Chief Scientist
By adding support for the StarVR One ultra-wide field-of-view VR headset to its VR software toolkit Vizard, WorldViz provides a powerful out-of-the-box solution for researchers looking to conduct VR research under near-natural conditions with integrated eye-tracking.
We are pleased to announce the WorldViz Vizard VR software platform now supports the new StarVR One headset with its ultra wide angle viewing and built-in eye tracking technology.
StarVR One headset users can now leverage the R&D focused analysis capabilities of Vizard 7, which have empowered thousands of academic and commercial research labs for over 20 years.
The StarVR One headset boasts an ultra-widefield-of-view, with a coverage of natural human vision, and 16 million sub-pixels at a refresh rate of 90 frames per second, Lighthouse motion tracking and hand controllers, seamlessly integrated Tobii eye-tracking, and built-in IPD adjustment.
“We, at StarVR, are very excited that WorldViz VR software platform Vizard 7 now allows researchers to instantly create scientific experiments using StarVR One headset, where you are able to not only analyse eye-tracking data with WorldViz VR eye-tracking analytic lab software but also conduct the experiment with StarVR One’s ultra-wide field of view, with a coverage of natural human vision, where the user behaviour and research result would be more genuine.”
Jane Hsu, StarVR Global Marketing Head
“Together, StarVR and WorldViz put a unique research solution at the fingertips of academics who want to immerse subjects in as realistic as possible virtual scenarios. With a 210-degree horizontal and 130-degree vertical field-of-view, this headset opens new avenues for studying human behavior under real-world conditions, while the integrated Tobii eye-tracking technology along with our Eye-Tracking Analytics Lab software delivers a powerhouse of scientific-grade data analysis capabilities.”
