Unreal SteamVR Plugin

VR Post Process Setting

Some Post Processing features are performance-intensive for VR rendering. Even if the Project Settings of the previous section is done, your UE4 project may still suffer from visual quality and performance issues. The following settings are recommended to improve performance.

It is not required to set all the properties to the suggested values if your UE4 project is optimized well on the CPU and GPU and is running within your target frame rate.

1.  Find your PostProcessVolume or CameraActor in the level.

2. Expand the settings of the Details panel, where it is recommended to disable some features.

•  Go to “Lens” “Depth of Field”.
Set Method to BokehDOF.
Set Scale to 0.

•  Go to “Lens” “Bloom”.

Set Intensity to 0.

• Go to “Lens” Chromatic Aberration”.

Set Intensity to 0.

• Go to “Lens” “Lens Flares”.
Set Intensity to 0.

• Go to “Lens” “Image Effects”.
Set Vignette Intensity to 0.

• Go to Rendering Features” Ambient Occlusion”.
Set Intensity to 0.

• Go to Rendering Features” “Motion Blur”.
Set Amount to 0.

• Go to Rendering Features” “Screen Space Reflection”.
Set Intensity to 0.

• Go to Rendering Features” “Misc”.
Set Screen Percentage to 100.
